Book the 6 SharePrivately owned, at 10 Weka St, 0.6 km from the city centre. Play a game, share stories, and at 8pm every night have free hot chocolate pudding.
Hot chocolate pudding and ice cream, every night of the year. It’s vegan friendly, and sometimes it’s a fruit crumble instead.
We’ve become well known for this nightly treat. It draws people together.
From 7pm to 9pm every night it’s Off-Line Time: a social, creative couple of hours, inspired by the off-line cafés popping up. Join in if you like.
Games get played, music gets made, and people meet and swap traveller stories. The guitars, other instruments and games are free for guests to use. The pudding arrives at 8.

“The hostel is really welcoming, with so many small things that made me feel home: first the chocolate pudding of course, but also the music instruments and games that we can freely use to play all together, the little plants and candles on the tables, the fire to stay warm in winter, the nice backyard with the hammocks, the little lights outside at nighttime.”A guest

Hammocks all over the place, little lights outside at night, and plenty of spots to study, work, journal or have some time alone.

“We are not a Flashpackers – relationships and caring for each other come first. Our walls are a bit thin, the furniture is second hand – so if you come stay, please know this and come for the vibe, the relationships you will build, the care you will feel.”
TBB is run by Georgie, Mark, Rosie, Sam and Henk-Jan, with a team of exchange workers. Each week they make soup and bread for a staff lunch.
